Season's greetings from Tahoe!

My first day back at home since the start of school this fall, we took a family day trip to Lake Tahoe. The last time I was in Tahoe I was paddle boarding out on the lake. Today, I was playing around in the snow. This is why I LOVE Tahoe. Summer or Winter it's the dream place to be. Our first stop, Emerald Bay Vista point. We can never drive by and not get out of the car for some pictures. I've been at this exact spot in Tahoe numerous times, but it never fails to take my breath away each and every time. Seeing the clear blue water, with snowy mountains in the background was just what I needed after 8 crazy weeks of midterms and quizzes. We took some time to walk around in the snow and I ended up playing around in it like I used to in my childhood days in Vermont. Snow and cold winters will forever be close to my heart. We spent the rest of the day in Heavenly village. I just love being there. So much fun and excitement in the Tahoe air. For dinner, we went to blue dog pizza and it was delicious. We all agreed that each trip to South Lake Tahoe from now on will have to include the wings, garlic chips, and primavera pizza. I guess I could say the little shopping trip Thomas and I took before heading to Tahoe was totally worth it because mommy and I got to take cute selfies in our matching jackets and I'm obsessed with the comfy plaid/still wearing it while laying in bed watching the hunger games and sipping on hot chocolate. So today I skipped fall and jumped to winter in terms of my seasons. As always, whatever it is that you're wearing:

Warm and toasty

Living in San Diego, I am definitely guilty of hanging on to my summer closet a little too long. The knitted white dress and the jean jacket alone would make for a perfect summer outfit. But pairing with my lace up boots and brown hat, I turned it warm and toasty. This outfit is really simple and easy because I just threw together a bunch of essentials. White dress, jean jacket, and boots. The jean jacket has been with me for quite some time now. So thank you Levi's for being there for me all these years.  Each fall, I get obsessed with growing my boots collection and these lace up boots were the first this season. I wore them with my camo jacket earlier in my Disneyland post, giving them a military look. But here wearing the boots with the white knitted dress and panama hat give them a different kind of feel. Another reason this outfit works as a fall outfit: the colors. I love the earthy tones in this outfit because it leaves me feeling so comfortable. Thanks for reading, and look forward to seeing some 100% fall outfits without any hints of summer because I'm going home to norcal. As always:

All that glitters is gold

I had so much fun taking pictures with Kim the other day. She is such a talented photographer, and this photoshoot gave me a reason to dress up in the middle of the school week so I enjoyed it even more. I have to admit, I've been wearing my Steve Madden booties a little bit too much this fall. But they're just perfect for every fall outfit. The gold sequin peplum top most people would say is only for New Years Eve parties, but hey I break the rules and wear whatever it is I want whenever. Sure, it was a little flashy for ochem lecture, but I had fun wearing it so that's all that matters. To top it all off: the faux fur vest. I love faux fur and I say it is never too much. So the combination of gold sequins and faux fur made me feel super girly and princess-y and I'm not gonna deny that I loved every moment of it. So be bold, take risks, and as always:

Sweater Weather

This sweater makes me feel like I'm wearing a big fat blanket and I love it. Even more perfect for the days I'm stuck inside studying for my midterms. It's soo big and comfy. I'm not quite ready to say 'see you next summer' to my tribal skirt and today I found a way to make it fall appropriate. This thrifted chambray shirt I don't wear enough, so I'm glad it was brought out of my closet today. To top it off, my Frye boots. Absolutely obsessed with these. Cowboy boots in San Diego when everyone else is in flip flops? Yes, of course. As always:

Feel the magic!

Last Sunday I had the happiest day ever at the happiest place on earth. Disneyland has got magic and you can definitely feel it in the air. Every moment spent in this magical place I adore and cherish. I can only hope that everyone feels the kind of happiness that I, a 20 year old, felt walking through sleeping beauty's castle.

As you can see from the pictures I wore my Minnie ears and kept the Disney magic with me the whole day. Just to remind everyone reading this, whatever it is that you are unsure to walk out the door wearing:

Flower Crowns and Flower Fields

Welcome to my blog! This blog is dedicated to all those who love to get a little dressed up for every and any occasion. Truth be told, my decision to start blogging = result of girls night with my two best friends and passing around 3 pints of ice cream around the circle. Now I will share with the world the things I wear to make me feel who I truly am, the crazy, weird, fun, ridiculous things only I would think to do, and the small details in my life that bring me happiness and joy.
To start, here's something thats captured a few of my favorite things. My thrift store shorts I cut, cut some more, washed and frayed. Then I decided some hot glued on studs would be necessary to complete the DIY look. Then theres the turquoise lace. What girl doesn't love turquoise + lace. The flower crown? shh! I couldn't pick enough flowers to wrap around my head, but holding it up like that seemed good enough for me. Lastly, but most importantly, this beautiful place I'm standing in: my home, El Dorado Hills, CA. I miss home and can't wait to be back for thanksgiving break.
Thanks for reading, and if you're here to be inspired or something for tomorrow's outfit here's my only advice:
wear it out loud.
